, as officials in town this week approved and signed the , which will use the building for the first floor and residential units on the second and third floors.
Discussing the issue was Helen Coates, who felt that a bank as a possible inhabitant of the first floor wouldn't be the best option for a gathering place for people.

Felicity Botwinik, meanwhile, said, "Since the new library will be well-equipped as a place for people to meet together, I don't think it will be necessary for another such place so close. A bank would be an appropriate use of the ground floor, and more attractive to potential residents in the living spaces above."
And Richard Pierce said, "It has been in the public service since it was built and, if possible, should remain so."
Another interesting topic to readers revolved around the potential welcoming of .
"I love the idea of a farmers market!" Commented Lisa Walker. "The Senior Center parking area is very congested during the afternoon and evening hours on a Tuesday. Could they set up on the lawn instead?"
Helen Coates agreed and said, "I would maybe pick Deerfield as the road to the side could be used for the set up (if the grounds are wet) and there is plenty of parking both at the school, veterans hall and police station."
Added Tammy DeWolfe: "A couple of other suggestions would be the War Memorial Park or Buckmaster Pond."
East Street Accidents
A report earlier this week on the history of accidents near and under the East Street Bridge also prompted a couple of comments, both of which express concerns of the safety of the are and what could be done in the future as potential solutions.
