Week in Review: Driver Transported by MedFlight to Boston, Planning Board Reschedules Hearing, and Campers Party at Hale Reservation

Rounding out the week in Westwood news.

Residents and workers in Westwood saw something different in the sky this week, as a MedFlight helicopter landed on Morrison Field Friday to transport a driver to Boston Medical Center. While the condition of the driver, who crashed his van on Canton Street, is unknown, he is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, motorists dealt with a small hiccup in traffic on Thursday, after multiple vehicles collided in a chain-reaction fender bender on Washington Street.

The Westwood Planning Board unexpectedly cancelled its meeting Tuesday night, due to a medical emergency related to the chairman's family. The meeting, which aimed to open a public hearing to consider the construction of a garage at Prevett Oil, has been postponed until Tuesday.
