VIDEO: Hale Day Camp Provides Fun, Entertainment for Area Campers

The camp is one of many programs run during the summer in Westwood's backyard.

The following is the first in a weekly series running this summer that profiles the various camps and programs offered at Hale Reservation during the summer months.

During the winter months, serves as the perfect quiet retreat for the local snowshoer, cross-country skier, or just anyone who loves an outdoor hike. 

During the summer, however, it's a different story. The reservation is home to about 2,000 kids from nearly 70 different communities.

Campers from kindergarten through grade eight head to Hale for camp every day during the summer season, which runs through the end of August.

Hale Day Camp is the reservation's own camp that runs every summer, and is made up of Lower, Middle and Upper Camp. c

Campers in this camp have the use of two playing fields, a private swimming beach with changing area and bathroom, an outdoor activity pavilion, an Arts & Crafts cabin, and access to Worthington and Powissett Lodges.
