Town Elections, Committee Meetings, and Springtime Sports

A roundup of what's to come in the week ahead in Westwood.

As May inches closer, so does Town Elections and Town Meeting. We'll be bringing you up-to-the-minute coverage of both, in addition to a handful of other great stories and features this week. 

Here's a roundup of some of the things on our radar:

  • Tonight, the Westwood Board of Selectmen will meet at Westwood Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. Among items to be discussed are updates regarding the Westwood Station Project and Westwood Public Library Project, as well as a year-to-date budget report. For more, click here.
  • The 2011 Annual Town Election will be held Tuesday, with polls open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Stay tuned with us for complete election coverage, expected turnout, and results. All candidates are running unopposed this year.
  • In sports, we'll have coverage of Westwood High School's varsity softball team taking on Medfield, as well as the girls' lacrosse team's efforts against Medway on Tuesday. 
  • With Town Meeting only a week away, we'll be running a series of features this week detailing and highlighting some of the key articles on the warrant this year. Stay tuned for more.
  • The Westwood Little League will hold their annual parade this Saturday, rain or shine.
