Three Things to do This Weekend: September 4 - 6

A list of activities in the Westwood area during Labor Day weekend.

Fall Sports
A number of Westwood sports teams are taking part in scrimmages this weekend. Here's a list of which Westwood teams will be playing on Saturday, September 4, and where:

  • High School Girls' Varsity Volleyball: Westwood at Medway (Labor Day Scrimmage) –9 a.m. at 88 Summer St, Medway, MA
  • High School Varsity Football: Westwood at Concord-Carlisle (scrimmage) - 10:00am at 500 Walden St, Concord, MA
  • High School Football: Xaverian vs. Weymouth (scrimmage) - 10:00am at Xaverian Brothers High School
  • High School Boys' Soccer: Westwood vs. Norwood (scrimmage) - 10:00am at Westwood High School
  • HIgh School Boys' Varsity Soccer: Xaverian at Soccer Bowl - 600 Franklin St, Whitman, MA

Music on the Common
The Jazzabelles will perform at the Walter J. Dempsey Memorial Bandstand on the Town Common in Norwood on Sunday, September 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. The show will be rain or shine and is free to the public.

Labor Day Shopping
Several merchants from Legacy Place in Dedham will be outside in the shopping center on the sidewalk from 4 to 8 p.m. as part of an Open-Air Market. Shoppers can swing by to see what is happening and being sold; some shops will be handing out cotton candy while others will display a sales rack.
