Three Things to do This Weekend: September 11 - 12

A roundup of events in the Westwood area this coming weekend.

High School Sports
The fall sports season is now in full swing and there's no shortage of sporting events taking place this weekend. On Saturday, catch some football action in a head-to-head match between Xaverian Brothers High School and Malden Catholic. If football isn't your thing, a number of soccer games are taking place for both Westwood High School and Xaverian, and Westwood High's girls' varsity swim team will be competing against Milford High School. Family Fun at the New England Sports Academy
If you're looking for some sports-related family fun, head over to the New England Sports Academy at 345 University Ave on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees of the Family Fun event can meet NESA's coaches and members and even try out programs and play games. The event is free and open to the public.

The Seventh Annual Hale Triathlon
Hale will be hosting its seventh annual Hale triathlon on Sunday. The adult race begins at 9 a.m. and the children's portion of the event begins at noon. There is still time to register for interested participants. Volunteers are also needed and can contact Hale with interest at 781-326-1770 (ext. 14), or visit www.HaleReservation.org for more information.
