Three Things to do This Weekend: August 27 - 29

High School sports return to Westwood this weekend, among a host of other activities in the area.

Catch a Fall Sports Preview
Want to get a glimpse of some fall sports in Westwood before the season starts? Xaverian Brothers High School will be hosting a scrimmage against Bridgewater-Raynham, starting at Xaverian's field at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. But if football isn't your thing, Westwood Boys' Varsity Soccer will be heading over to Walpole to compete in a scrimmage starting at around 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Watch a Final Summer Concert
Before August is behind us and the summer is over, be sure to head over to Norwood to catch a performance by The Olde Kids on the Block. The group will be performing at the Walter J. Dempsey Memorial Bandstand on the Town Common from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Tour the Fairbanks House in Dedham
If you're looking to beef up on your history outside of Westwood, head on over to the Fairbanks House on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., or Sunday between 1 and 5 p.m. The house is thought to be the oldest standing timber frame building in North America, and tours of the building are given up through Halloween.
