This Week in Westwood News: July 19 – July 25

A Board of Selectmen meeting, the Summer Concert Series and a number of Westwood sporting events are on our radar this week.

The Westwood Board of Selectmen will hold a regularly-scheduled meeting at the Westwood Senior Center tonight, during which they will meet with the Planning Board to discuss updates regarding Westwood Station.

While the meeting commences, children's entertainer Rich Goldin will give a fun performance outside on the Senior Center green as part three of the Summer Concert Series.

Another concert will be held on Wednesday at the Westwood Public Library, when  Two Old Friends, a traditional Irish group, will perform a short set to tell stories of how immigrants have brought their music over from Ireland, Scotland and Great Britain.

The annual Fireman's Foam event, which was postponed twice last week, will resume on Wednesday at 2 p.m. behind the Deerfield School.

Meanwhile, expect to see a number of briefs from the Westwood Police logs, coming to you in frequent installments.

Finally, we'll be attending the Pedestrian and Bike Safety Committee meeting Thursday night before rounding out the week with ideas of what to do in town this weekend, as well as complete coverage of Westwood Youth Soccer.
