This Week in Westwood News: August 16 - 22

Library project updates, mosquito protection and details on new bike racks are all on Westwood Patch's coverage plan this week.

This week, we'll be looking at the various locations Westwood officials have designated for a handful of new bike racks that will be installed throughout town. Stay tuned for more information on the bike rack program, as well as photos of the locations.

We'll also be covering a family concert on Tuesday morning at the Westwood Public Library, complete with photos and video.

Also in library news, we'll be checking to see if any updates have progressed with the new library project, and will dig into a new program the library is engaging in with NSTAR, through which residents can check out meters for monitoring their energy consumption at home.

The Westwood Board of Health has issued a reminder to residents to protect themselves from mosquitoes as summer begins to lead into autumn, and we'll be giving you tips on how to stay clear of eastern equine encephalitis (EEE).

By week's end, we'll be looking at a number of activities for residents to do in the Westwood area, digging up more of Westwood's past in our Historical Westwood series, as well as checking out another natural hot spot in town.
