This Week in Westwood

Check out what happened this week in Westwood.

The heat was on this week with temperatures close to 100. It may have brought upon a mandatory water restriction by , but it didn’t slow the progress of the Westwood Library Project. Police officers and construction workers braved the heat to quickly, and efficiently, finish the located on High Street.

The paving caused a lane closure on High Street and a detour was set up at Gay Street. DPW Director Vicki Quiram and the Westwood Police Department reported that things went smoothly and there were no complaints to their departments. The paving was part of the library project, and was to cover a water main that was originally from the Colburn School.

, a former Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Nashoba Regional High School, came out of retirement to take the job.

participated in the Race Across America last weekend, raising over $2,000. It was the fourth time she has participated in the event.

The met on Tuesday and discussed a number of topics. Usage of funds were approved for construction of the new Recreation Department office. The Board was also angry about proposed digital billboards for the University Ave MBTA station.
