Thanksgiving Tips and Black Friday Sales

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Westwood Patch will be bringing you all the info you need for a happy and safe holiday.

While no town boards are committees are scheduled to meet this week, due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there's still plenty of news and information to bring your way.

In the spirit of the holiday, we'll be taking a look this week at some of our readers' suggestions for favorite fall and Thanksgiving recipes, including side dishes and deserts.

We'll also be taking a look at what local chefs in Westwood recommend for special meals and what makes for a good vegetarian dish for those who wish to stay clear of Turkey on Thursday. And we'll be looking at what to do with that heaping pile of leftovers in the fridge.

On the sports end, stay tuned for previews of the two big football games involving Westwood on Thursday, as Westwood prepares to take on town-rival Holliston, and Xaverian gets ready for a battle against St. John's Prep. And be sure to stay tuned on Turkey Day for full coverage of both games.

The coming of Thanksgiving also means that Black Friday is on the horizon. As such, we'll be talking to local businesses in and around the Westwood area to see what is open and when, as well as what special post-Thanksgiving sales will be held.

In light of Black Friday, we're also planning to check in with our readers and Westwood residents as to what - if any - plans they might have for Black Friday.

Do you have a special plan mapped out for Black Friday shopping? If so, be sure to let us know!

As always, thanks for reading, and from all of us at Westwood Patch, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving week!
