Some Irish Flavor Right Around the Corner

It's not as close as Legacy Place, but Foxborough's Patriot Place is holding St. Patrick's Day Festivities this year.

You don’t have to battle the crowds at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston or stand in line at the Black Rose in Faneuil Hall for a slice of Ireland this year.

Just hop on Rte. 1 and travel 20 minutes to for the Saturday, March 12.

The all-day event includes Irish bands, step dancing, face painting and caricature drawing. The restaurants in the complex will also be offering specialty menus to celebrate the jolly holiday.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. in North Marketplace outside Life Is Good with a performance by The Exiles, a local band that plays traditional Irish dance music. A string of musical acts, including the Shananagans, The Wild Rovers and the Celtic Clan, will also perform throughout the day.

Irish step dancing by The Harney Academy in Walpole will commence at noon and Irish-themed skating exhibitions will take place at the outdoor skating rink located within the North Marketplace.
