Submit your best October snow storm below or send to mattp@patch.com.

What could be a better scare for Halloween than to wake up and find the ground covered in snow . . . in October?

Well that's what residents in Westwood and elsewhere saw Sunday morning, after a harsh winter storm slammed the state Saturday night, prompting Gov. Deval Patrick to declare a state of emergency.

The storm brought heavy rain, ice, snow and strong winds that caused trees and wires to come down in Westwood and resulted in more than 3,000 customers without power as of Sunday morning.

But one thing's for sure - despite the power outages and damage, a snow-covered ground in mid-autumn is truly a sight to see. As such we're asking residents in Westwood to submit their best October snow storm photos.
