Poll: What Do You Think About the Reuse of the Colburn School?

Westwood officials signed a Purchase and Sale agreement with a developer on Monday night.

As development on the New Westwood Public Library continues on a daily basis with crews on site, the Town of Westwood is moving forward with the idea of reusing the as part business, part residential units.

The with Brockton-based Coffman Realty, Inc. and Milton-based Sullivan Homes, LLC, which are now under the moniker Colburn School, LLC.

The historic building, though, won't actually undergo renovations until after the new building is ready to open for the public and the old building has been demolished, an act that is expected to take place sometime in 2012.

The plan involves turning the first floor into a business, which, at the moment is thought to be a bank, and turning the second and third floors into residential apartment units (the apartments will not be part of Westwood's senior housing).
