Police Believe Car Theft, Larceny From Vehicle Are Connected

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information.

Thursday, March 21

1:27 a.m.: An officer on patrol said a suspicious vehicle pulled into Westwood Gulf which was closed. After questioning the person, the officer determined the person was getting air for his tires. 

7:47 a.m.: A caller reported his 2004 Volvo was stolen overnight. The car was left unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle is still missing a police have no leads.

5:26 p.m.: During the overnight hours, a thief entered an unlocked car and stole an iPhone, a Ralph Lauren coat and sunglasses. Police believe the two incidents are connected. 

Officers recommend ensuring your car is locked to deter theft.
