Pet of the Week: Sabrina

My name is Sabrina and I am 9 months old and my features and coloring make me look like I am a Rottweiler mix.

I was transferred to the shelter after being found as a stray. I am an adorable pup and have been here at the shelter longer than expected. I would love to go to a fun active home and get my energy out.

I like most dogs and really enjoy playing. Cats seem like they would make a great toy so the staff thinks I should not live with them. I need to go home with older children because I can be a bit jumpy and mouthy.

As for housetraining, I am working really hard but, it is a hard task to learn in a shelter environment. Being a puppy, I am learning my basic commands and have already learned “sit”, “down, and “crate."

Summertime is my favorite season and I just love to swim in my kiddie pool. The staff put one in my kennel and it is so much fun and a great way to keep cool in the heat. Toys- they are just awesome and I can’t get enough of them! Squeaky, bouncy, rope, rubber, you name it….I love it!

Also, I will probably need a very high fenced in yard as I can scale fences and I am an escape artist. A few weeks ago staff could not figure out how I was getting out of my kennel. A staff member was watching from around the corner and saw me scale the walls and jump over the kennels.They took a picture of me when I was on top. I did end up stubbing my toe and was on pain meds, but I recovered and was moved in to a covered kennel/run.

With regular exercise I will probably not be so eager to escape. Hiking, walking, running, playing at the dog park, and lots of playtime will be the best for me,

Overall, I am a fun loving, playful, friendly pup looking for my forever-home. I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, and micro chipped. Please call the shelter for more information, or even better stop by and visit with me.
