A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

Other hazards expected from any severe thunderstorms today include damaging wind and large hail.

The NWS says isolated tornadoes are also possible today.

The greatest risk for these storms is in western Massachusetts, but the entire has the potential to see severe weather, especially between 4 p.m. and midnight.

Despite cloud cover this morning, partial sunshine is expected to break through in the early afternoon, allowing for an unstable atmosphere, which will help build for multiple rounds of thunderstorms, the NWS said.
