Flakes Have Started Falling but How Much Snow Might We Get?

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory today.

The snow has begun to fall in Westwood and according to the National Weather Service (NWS) the winter storm may leave up to six inches of accumulation before all is said and done.

The NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the state, including Westwood, in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday.

The area can expect "heavy snow" this afternoon into Thursday morning with a total accumulation between three and six inches.

The weather may have an impact on traffic this evening and tomorrow morning. 

"Poor visibility and slippery travel due to snow covered roadways," the advisory states. "There may be more of an impact for the Thursday morning commute due to the combination of snow and slippery roads."
