Chain Reaction Car Accident Leaves One Injured
The four-vehicle accident on Route 1 resulted in a minor injury and a rush-hour traffic headache.
Westwood Police responded to Providence Highway/Route 1 on Thursday, March 24, at around 6:08 p.m. after receiving reports of a four-vehicle accident.
The incident occurred when the driver of a 2002 Volkswagen did not see the car in front come to a stop, an as such collided with a 2006 Toyota from behind. The Toyota then collided with a 2007 Audi, which then proceeded to hit a 2005 Hyundai.
The driver of the 2006 Toyota was transported to Norwood Hospital, complaining of neck pain. No other injuries were reported, and rush hour traffic was held up briefly to clear the accident.
