Happy Saint Patrick's Day, Westwood! Thanks for checking out this week, as we look to highlight editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more. 

This weekly feature provides lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriend nights out, kids party places, parks and more. Last week's feature focused on in the Westwood area for families to check out this year.

Now, in lieu of St. Patrick's Day falling on the same day as our weekly Patch Picks feature, we're featuring five ideas for you to celebrate around the Westwood area:

An event you might try with your kids, this program begins today at 4 p.m. at the . The free drop-in craft program will feature four or five crafts related to a certain "theme" be offered for our creative young patrons.

A huge St. Patrick's Day party will take place at 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Needham. For a $25 donation, you'll be able to enjoy a corned beef dinner, as well as dancing and entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good, which will be donated to St. Mark’s Parish in Dorchester.

Whole Foods at Legacy Place is hosting a food and beer tasting in light of St. Patrick's Day. Stop by between 5 and 7 p.m. for samples of Irish beer, corned beef & cabbage, soda bread and other items.

Also in Dedham is the widely-known Old Irish Alehouse at the corner of Providence Highway and Rte. 109. Overlooking the waters of the Charles River, the Irish restaurant could be the perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Enjoy some homestyle food and entertainment at the Corrib Pub and Restaurant in West Roxbury for a variety of specials, from corn beef and cabbage to shepherd's pie, as well as salmon roscommon, and, of course, a frothy Guinness. DJ George will be on hand for entertainment between 2 and 7 p.m., followed by Jerry Kenneally from 8 p.m. to close.
