Today's Weather: There will be a slight chance of showers before 10 a.m. in Westwood today, then a chance of thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 91 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

1. Westwood's trash and recycling for the Fourth of July week will be on the regular schedule for Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3. Trash and recycling will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week due to Independence Day on Wednesday.

3. Love outdoor sports like kayaking and mountain biking? between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a free demonstration of how to use various sporting equipment, courtesy of Eastern Mountain Sports. All attendees will receive a 20 percent discount on kayaks and related accessories.

4. Former Boston Bruin defenseman and Northeastern University hockey coach Ferdinand "Ferny" Flaman recently died of cancer at the age of 85. .
