5 Things You Need to Know Today in Westwood: Aug. 8

Harry Potter night and some exercise that will get you laughing.

1. The Islington branch library is having a Harry Potter Series Event tonight at 7 O'clock. There will be book discussion, trivia and prizes. The library recommends signing up for this event.

2. The Permanent Building Committee will meet at Town Hall tonight at 7 O'clock. They will be discussing the library update, among other things.

3. The Westwood Laughter Circle will be gathering next Wednesday, August 15th for their monthly laughter yoga. Laughter yoga, according to the group, is a playful form of exercise that combines components such as deep breathing, clapping and laughter. It helps unwind the negative effects of stress, strengthen the immune system and makes you feel good, empowered and energetic. They're currently looking for more people to join. 4. Are you or someone in your family a senior citizen who's having trouble getting to schedule doctor's appointments? The Westwood Council on Aging has a medical van available to take elders and disabled Westwood residents to medical appointments. This is just one of the many services the COA offers. 5.People are still being cautioned by the Board of Health to be careful of Mosquitos. Be sure to wear bug spray when outside for extended periods of time.
