New Library Programs Enable Teens To Get Funky and Younger Patrons To Chill

The new library is offering a full slate of summer programs aimed at Westwood’s younger patrons.  

Teens and tweens can get funky and learn how to play both a drum or a didgeridoo.  Grade schoolers and toddlers can learn to tune in, chill out and shape up with yoga sessions.

Mom & Me Yoga

For children ages 3-5 and their mothers

Come and join yoga instructor Erin Mann of “Little Yogis” for a wonderful yoga event for both mom and child.


Drum to the Beat with Otha Day
July 24 at 3:00 pm
Grades 6 - 12

Otha Day facilitates a fun and lively drum/rhythm circle from the deep belief that rhythm has the power to build community, promote well-being and create joy.  He supports awareness of the presence of rhythm in every act of living knowing that:  “Your HeartBeat is the rhythm of your soul” 


Fit & Frosty

Ages 10 - 12

Relax your mind and body with an afternoon of yoga with Erin Mann followed by a healthy smoothie snack.


Aussie Funk Jam Workshop
August 7 at 6:30 pm
Grades 6-12

Participants learn how to play the mesmerizing didgeridoo. The "didge" has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years, and these days you can hear it mixed into all styles of modern music. The Aussie Funk Jam is cool, funky, and unique ... a totally interactive musical experience!
