The Main Library has been experiencing problems with the 2nd floor wood ceiling. The Main Library closed on Thursday, January 9th and reopened on Monday January 13th after completing repairs which all parties felt made the building safe for occupancy. Subsequent to the repairs, more problems with the wood ceiling became apparent and this caused the building to close again on Wednesday, January 22nd. The Main Library will remain closed until the appropriate repairs and safety inspections can be made.
The Permanent Building Committee has directed resources to correct the situation. The Board of Library Trustees expresses their deepest apologies to the public on the need to close the Library. All reserved items will be held at the Library. Patrons may return library items to either the Main or Branch and no late fines will be charged. The Islington Branch Library will be open its regular hours:
Tuesday & Thursday 10am – 5pm; Wednesday 1pm – 8pm
