Library Now Offers Online Payment Option

Town residents now have an even easier way to support the library.  The Friends of the Westwood Library have added a PayPal button to the library website just in time for the annual membership drive.

Residents can go online to the library website  -- or via its Facebook page --  and, with one click on the donate button, be directed to a PayPal webpage where they can easily and securely make a donation.

“Using PayPal and donating online is quick, easy and safe,” said Holly Joe, the group’s Treasurer.  “Donors don’t need to write a check or put anything in the mail.  A couple of mouse clicks is all it takes.”

According to Joe, the addition of an online payment option makes a lot of sense for both the FOL and the town.

“We want to be wherever our supporters are.  Some of our town’s residents prefer to pay bills online.  Others wish to write a check,” she said.  “Now they can donate to the library using their preferred payment method.  We’re still happy to accept checks and are thrilled we can now take PayPal donations as well.”

The Friends of the Library is a non-profit group that raises funds mainly through its membership campaign.  The group uses these funds to supplement library expenditures that are not covered by the library's operating budget, including book purchases, technology upgrades, authors' visits, children's activities and museum passes.
