Give the Gift of Reading

The Westwood Public Library is now accepting book donations for its December holiday sale.    Donated books will be featured along with book-related crafts at a holiday library bazaar to be held December 14 - 16.

“We welcome all donations from book-loving Westwood residents,” said Felicity Botwinik, the book sale’s chairperson.  “It is an opportunity to put a good read into the hand of a new reader all whilst supporting the library.”

Especially needed are gently-used hardback and paperback fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, art tomes, young adult titles and children’s books.  CDs and DVDs are also welcome.  The library is unable to accept donations of old textbooks, magazines, videos or Reader’s Digest condensed books.

Donations can be dropped off at the Main or Branch Library during normal business hours.

All proceeds from the book sale and bazaar will benefit the non-profit Friends of the Westwood Library.  The Friends use all funds raised to supplement library expenditures that are not covered by the library's operating budget, including book purchases, technology upgrades, authors' visits, children's activities and museum passes.
