Lambert's Gears Up For the Holidays With Annual Christmas Tree Sales

Lambert's has re-opened its annual Christmas Tree and decoration stand, offering a variety of goods at a range of different prices.

Every year in December, the nursery at Lambert's Rainbow Fruit in Westwood goes through somewhat of a transition.

Instead of perennials and plants carried through the spring and summer, customers can now find a host of various Christmas trees, wreaths, and other decorative ornaments for the holidays.

The nursery, which is located at the west end of the parking lot in Lambert's Plaza on Providence Highway, is filled with a wide variety of Fraser fir and balsam trees of various shapes and sizes.  There is also a large selection of wreaths for sale in the same spot.

Christmas trees are averaging around seven feet, and are selling for about $40. Wreaths, meanwhile, come in a variety of sizes ranging from 10 inches at $6.99 to 36 inches at $40.

Kissing balls are also available, and range in price from $20 to $30, depending on size. Despite tough economic conditions, Lambert management indicated that the store is prepared to sell out of all products as in years past.

Ryan, an employee of Lambert's who asked that his last name not be used, said that "the wreaths are made of balsam." Ryan estimated about 5,500 or more trees were in stock at the moment.

The number may seem large, but in years past, Ryan said the store has been able to sell out of its entire stock of trees and wreaths.

The Christmas tree stand at Lambert's is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily throughout the month of December.  For more information, visit www.lambertsfruit.com.
