Chill Closes its Doors

Owner Wendy Hill is looking at options on what to do next.

After three years in business, , "the general store for hip people" has closed its doors.

The store, which officially closed on June 15, had traditionally closed during the summer months, only to reopen in the fall. And while the doors to the High Street location will not open again for Chill, it may not be the end of the business.

"We have not made firm plans on what is next," said former co-owner Wendy Hill. "Perhaps another location in a different town, or an online store. We are taking the summer off to think about our next move."

Hill opened the 300-square foot shop in April 2008, with the goal of opening , but items that were accessible to anyone. She co-owned the business with her sister-in-law, Needham resident Jayme Yellin.

Both owners had the same goal in mind for each customer: to provide something new every time they walked into the store.

The store specialized in sales of unique and vintage jewelry, greeting cards, handbags, candle-holders, and other knickknacks. The items were something that Hill said had a unique and "hip" feel many stores in the Boston suburbs don't feature.

Though she did not elaborate on the reason for the closure, Hill said the last three years have been nothing short of valuable.

"We had a wonderful, fun time, and want all our customers to know  how much we appreciate them," Hill said.
