Chiara Bistro Change to Alcohol License

Chiara Bistro can now serve alcohol to private functions at 11 a.m. on Sundays.

Chiara Bistro now allowed to serve alcohol to private functions at 11 a.m. on Sundays.

The restaurant, located at 569 High Street, typically opens at 4:30 p.m. but opens early on Sundays for special events.

Owner Steven LaCount said he would like to encourage customers – typically, women’s groups -- to start their events a bit earlier so can finish by 3 p.m. and give staff time to clean up and rearrange furniture for the dinner crowd.

“We have no intention of opening for lunch service and it would strictly be private events,” LaCount told the Board of Selectmen at its Aug. 26 meeting.

Town licensing administrator Louise Rossi saw no issues with the request.
