During the winter months,  serves as the perfect quiet retreat for the local snowshoer, cross-country skier, or just anyone who loves an outdoor hike. 

During the summer, however, it's a different story. The reservation is home to about 2,000 kids from nearly 70 different communities.

Campers from kindergarten through grade eight head to Hale for camp every day during the summer season, which runs through the end of August.

The Waltham-Watertown Boys & Girls Club is one of the may area-organizations that holds camp at Hale in Summer.

This particular camp normally sees about 75 kids each day, unless it rains, when the number can be smaller. 

Youths from ages 5 through 12 participate in the camp, with 13-year-olds working as Counselors in Training (CITs). 

The group does everything from play games to go on hikes to enjoy swimming at Noanet Pond.
