Summer Concert Series 2012 Lineup Announced

Three returning artists and one new performer will be-on hand starting July 9.

Westwood's is coming back to town just in time for the middle of the summer 

The free concerts will be held at their normal location, the , on the green by the gazebo. In the event of rain, the concerts will be moved to the . 

The concerts are sponsored by the Westwood Young Women's Club, and are ideal events for families in Westwood and surrounding communities throughout the summer months.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs and are welcome to pack a picnic dinner. Patrons are also asked to bring one canned item to donate to the Westwood Food Pantry.

Monday, July 9: Westwood Swing Band (6:30-8:30 p.m.)

This 16-piece swing band includes a female vocalist and performs various tunes from the Big Band Era. 

Monday, July 15: Tequila Amigos (6:30-8:30 p.m.)

New to this year's event, this group provides a mix of Latin jazz with a mix of more contemporary island and soft rock music. The group performs thanks to a grant from the Westwood Cultural Council. 

Monday, July 23: MackSeeDoodle (6:30-7:30 p.m.)

The interactive musical performance for children of all ages returns this year. Original compositions and popular songs will be among the set-list, exploring such topics as exploration of imagination, diversity, healthy choices, bullying and adventure. Pizza will be available courtesy of .

Monday, July 30: The Bubble Music Man (6:30-7:30 p.m.)

This one-hour children's entertainment program is designed for children 3-7 years of age, and will feature musical fun and bubbles. Sponsored by Needham Bank; pizza available, courtesy of Westwood Pizza.
