Share Your Artistic Talent at Capturing Nature in Westwood Art Exhibit

Residents are encouraged to go outside, look around and explore, and “capture” the natural beauty one sees through a painting, 3-D piece, photograph, or any other preferred artistic medium.

All ages are invited to participate. Entry forms are available at both branches of the and online at www.westwoodlandtrust.org.

Last year, several hundred Westwood community members viewed the wide variety of artwork submitted by students, teachers and residents.

Exhibited items included ceramic pottery with garden patterns; colorful “pet rocks”; nature-inspired collages based on Matisse stained glass window designs; leaf impression paper clay jewelry; sunflower still life drawings in the style of Van Gogh; black and white photographs of natural forms; large pastel drawings of shells and tree images; and sterling silver jewelry with nature themes. View samples of previous submissions at www.westwoodlandtrust.org.

WLT would like to thank Westwood Public School Art Director Diane Kaiser, as well as Katie Thurston, Westwood Public School art teacher helping to coordinate the exhibit, and all the WPS art teachers for continuing to link the art curriculum with nature.
