Pet of the Week: Leroy Brown

Leroy is available for adoption through the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Editor's Note: The following was provided by the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Meet Leroy Brown

Leroy came to the Medfield Animal Shelter as a result of a police investigation. His owner, who had loved him and taken good care of him, was sent to jail and left Leroy with a friend who had him living in a tent, but that didn't work out and now he is waiting patiently to be adopted. He's been with us for over a month hoping against hope there might be one more chance to share his big love again with an appreciative owner.

Leroy likes to kiss as many faces as he can and to leave his drool on car windows as he cruises down Rt 109, ears flapping and tail thumping while the Beach boys belt out Help me Rhonda. His 9 year old body has its share of arthritis that requires glucosamine and he knows his legs won't carry him much further than 2 or 3 years down the road, but he dreams of having a home with a grassy spot to play and some water to swim in once in a while.

Leroy loves all our volunteers both young and old, loves some dogs and wants others to hit the road.  He is very interested in wildlife, so we aren't sure if cats would be a good fit. He loves to walk but does not need a big yard or a big house.  He loves to lounge on his dog bed and chew a bone or take a nap. He also loves rolling in the grass and splashing in a kiddie pool to cool off on a hot day.

There is no adoption fee for this gentle giant.  We just want to find him a good home where he will be loved and cared for. Please call the Shelter 508.359.8989 or send an e-mail to info@medfieldshelter.com if you would like to meet Leroy.

Every dog placed by the Medfield Animal Shelter is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
