Westwood Resident, Angie Wu, is performing as a polichinelle in Fisher Academy of Ballet's Nutcracker.
Westwood resident Angie Wu was selected to perform in Fisher Academy of Ballet's “the Nutcracker,” playing at the Orpheum in Foxboro on December 15th at 6pm.   Students from several area dance schools auditioned at Fisher Academy of Ballet in Sharon in September.  Angie is a student at Angel School of Performing Arts in Sharon.

Guest artists Kristina Liu and Vincent Brewer from Festival Ballet Providence will be dancing the lead roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.    This is a great first-time ballet to bring children to and is suitable for ages 3 and up.  It is a holiday classic about a little girl who receives a Nutcracker for Christmas and has a magical adventure with the Nutcracker, fighting giant mice alongside toy soldiers under the Christmas tree, meeting snow fairies and traveling to  to Candyland. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at: http://fisheracademyofballetnutcracker.bpt.me

Studios participating in the production are: Fisher Academy of Ballet, A Dancer's World, Foxboro Classical Ballet, Elite Dance Center, Dance Express, Le Studio Danse,  South Shore Ballet Theater, Angel School of Performing Arts, and Janet Keaney's School of Dance.

Fisher Academy of Ballet was founded in 2011 by Liane Fisher. Fisher Academy of Ballet’s mission is to provide pre-professional and recreational ballet training to dancers of all ages and to give area dance students the opportunity to participate in ballet performances, learn about the classical repertory, and discover the fun of ballet.  Most dance studios do not focus on ballet, and many students only learn ballet as foundation technique for their other dance forms and do not have the opportunity to really perform it as an art form.   By staging community performances, such as the Nutcracker, Fisher Ballet hopes to inspire students with a love of ballet as an art and also give the general community the opportunity to attend the ballet at a more affordable cost than major productions in the city.

Fisher Academy of Ballet offers classes for dancers age 3 to adult and is located just off of Route 95 in Sharon – not far from Foxboro, Canton, Easton, Walpole, Stoughton and Norwood.   Visit the website at www.fisherballet.com.
