New York Life Employees Support Habitat for Humanity’s National Women Build Week

South Shore Habitat for Humanity announced today its $15,000 grant from the New York Life Foundation recognizing the volunteer service of 70 New York Life employees who will participate in six builds over the course of the summer.  Nineteen Retirement Plan Services employees from New York Life’s Westwood office joined Taniya Nayak, a resident of the South Shore and a designer/host on HGTV and Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible,” to launch their first build during National Women Build Week 2014.  Now in its seventh year, National Women Build Week challenges women to devote at least one day to help build affordable housing in their local communities.  The group helped construct a Habitat home in Hanover, MA.

New York Life’s grant is part of its ‘Volunteers for Good’ program, which encourages the team efforts of New York Life’s employees, retirees and agents.  Qualified teams may apply for grants for the nonprofit organizations where they volunteer their time.
