MISS MASSACHUSETTS JOINS ARCH ORTHODONTICS TO MARK NATIONAL CHILDREN’S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH

Miss Mass.  Joined by ARCH’s ‘Patient of Quarter,’  International Junior Miss New England Pre-Teen

 To mark National Children’s Dental Health Month, ARCH Orthodontics selected patient Kiersten Khoury of Westwood, Mass., as ‘Patient of the Quarter.’ Kiersten, who won the title of International Junior Miss New England Pre-Teen 2014, was invited to ARCH’s Stoughton office to meet one of her idols, the reigning Miss Massachusetts, Amanda Narciso of Taunton.  

This is the 4th consecutive year that ARCH Orthodontics is the Official Orthodontist of Miss Massachusetts (MissMass.org). ARCH’s Dr. Robert Chavez and Dr. Andrew Chase annually support the organization’s Scholarship Foundation which is dedicated to helping young women recognize their potential and achieve their dreams.  ARCH has several offices south of Boston and on Cape Cod. 

National Children’s Dental Health Month raises awareness about the importance of oral health, which is especially crucial during Orthodontic treatment. Dr. Chase says, “Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular visits with your dentist—even while you’re wearing braces—helps young patients get a head start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums – and a great smile.”

Amanda Narciso is a graduate of Salve Regina University and represented the Bay State in the nationally-televised Miss American Pageant last Fall.  Her platform is the Children’s Miracle Network that supports children's hospitals, medical research and awareness of children's health issues. ARCH Orthodontics is a long-time supporter of dozens of local community, health, educational and civic causes.

ARCH Orthodontics follows the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommendation that all children be screened by an Orthodontist by age 7. This is because by age… More 7, most children will have all of their 6-year molars and at least four of their permanent anterior teeth (two upper and two lower). With these teeth in place, the Orthodontist can give an accurate diagnosis, treatment plan, and timetable for what care a child may need over the following 5 to 10 years. “Our dedication to early diagnosis is critical to prevent extensive, difficult orthodontic treatment later on,” says Dr. Chavez.  ARCH offers this screening without charge.
