First off I would like to inform you that www.WestCAT.tv is currently being completely renovated. Lack of certain features has influenced us to renovate our site. We will soon be launching a newer, more fantastic, 100 percent updated online source for all of your WestCAT needs.

The month of July will be WestCAT's greatest month. All of the ideas I have had in my head the last few weeks can finally begin becoming a reality. This is a good starting point for the station, but WestCAT does not belong to me. WestCAT belongs to you! This is Westwood's Channel!

Become a volunteer! Become a producer! Build a stronger resume while becoming a more well rounded individual! Do something AWESOME for the town of Westwood! Sit on your couch with your family and watch YOUR TV show!

Here is some info that you should know.

WestCAT is a volunteer driven production facility and is regularly seeking residents from the community to participate in coverage of public meetings, sports events, school concerts, special events, and much more. We also encourage volunteer production of production of programs. Equipment and training is provided free of charge. If you have an idea for a new show, would like to get your message heard, or would like to be involved in your community access station, contact us today at adam@westcat.tv.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What programs are scheduled on WestCAT?

The program schedule for local programs is shown on the WestCAT channels' bulletin board while local programming is not being aired. You can also go to the Program Schedule of www.WestCAT.tv website to access the programming schedule.

Where is WestCAT located?

The WestCAT office is located in the the Westwood Town Hall (580 High St, Westwood, MA). All of our programming is filmed on location and then edited and produced at the Town Hall.

How do programs get on WestCAT?

The vitality of the studio relies on its volunteer basis by the community. WestCAT currently is looking for volunteers. WestCAT currently only has ONE staff member. Community Access Stations are all non-profit organizations, and all operate this way. My goal as Executive Director is to work with you as a community in order to give you, the town of Westwood, what you want, and more.

What if I have an idea for a new show?

The best way to get your idea on the air is to email your idea to adam@westcat.tv. You can then come by the WestCAT office, learn to use the production equipment and produce the program either by yourself or with a group of interested friends. However, it is possible to produce a new show with existing trained volunteers.

Why aren't more local events aired on WestCAT?

Remember, we are a group of volunteers. We are limited by the availability and interest of volunteers. If there is something you would like to see covered on WestCAT, find a group of interested people and form a production crew. It's fun, rewarding, and I PROMISE to help you in preparation! After all, its summer! Go out and film this beautiful town!

I hope that soon the people of Westwood will realize what WestCAT has to offer! Take a look at other Community Access Stations on your dial. See what kind of shows people are creating! I know a man that has been filming and producing his own show for over 20 years. People watch it! People talk about it! People in town recognize him! Most importantly, he enjoys doing it.

WestCAT will have shows about local:

  • News
  • History
  • Sports
  • Art
  • Music
  • Politics
  • Interesting Individuals
  • (Insert your idea here)

and more!

Westwood has been craving for something like this for years now. Its finally happening. There is no way to avoid it. You are about to be informed, educated, and entertained by some of Westwood's finest individuals. Become one of those individuals. Do something great this summer. Email me at adam@westcat.tv, and I will tell you everything you need to know to get started.

I hope to hear from you soon. I love this town, my heart is with this company, and my time is fully invested in getting WestCAT started off on the right foot and continue to be a success for years to come.

Have a great week!
