On Thursday night, February 7, Scientists from grades 2 through 5 participated in the Sheehan School Science Showcase.  Students brought boards, experiments, writing, and enthusiasm.  The students in grades 2-4 presented experiments while the fifth graders presented inventions.

A team of parent volunteer "Science Advisors" donned their white lab coats and toured the many displays.  They asked pointed questions to better understand the presentations.  Some were done by groups of children, others were individual.  

Titles of the projects included, "What Conducts Energy?", "Magnet Power", "Invisible Jello", "What Flavor of Bubble Gum Lasts Longest" and "Tornado in a Bottle".  Sheehan principal Kristen Evans awarded two raffle prizes, a game winner and three prizes for the grade five "invention convention".  

This event was chaired by a team of volunteer parents and supported by the PTA and staff at the Sheehan School.  Many thanks also go to 5Wits in Foxboro, and You do it Electronics in Needham for supplying prizes for a raffle.
