Westwood Little League Crowns 2012 Home Run Derby Champ
Nick Kennedy was named the champion this year.
The Westwood Little League's 2012 Home Run Derby took place at Morrison Field on Sunday, June 17, and as such the league has crowned this year's champion.
Nick Kennedy was crowned Sunday's champ after slugging it out against comrade Owen Doherty, according to the WLL website.
Kennedy took the victory after four rounds; both he and Doherty sent a number of shots straight out of the park.
Meanwhile, WLL also handed out a number of awards at Sunday's event. Aidan Fitzgibbon was named the Regular Season Home Run Champion, and also received a nod for Wood Bat Week Home Run along with Doherty, Danny Cooke and Hunter King, according to westwoodlittleleague.com.
The Westwood Little League officially kicked off its 2012 season in April with its annual parade.
