Visions for Vacancies: What Should Fill Coldstone Creamery Spot?
Taking a look at vacant storefronts in the community.
In Visions for Vacancies, we ask you what you'd like to see fill various vacancies in Westwood.
You can have your say and sound off on what you think should happen to a property even before the plans are drawn up.
As vacancies turn up from time to time, Westwood Patch will highlight them get your take on what should move in and what would do well in a particular setting.
Today we turn to the space formerly occupied by Coldstone Creamery at 301 Washington St. This small strip also houses a U.S. Post Office and Islington Pizza and Sub Shop. Interestingly enough, Jack Conway Realtor moved out a while back and that space is also unoccupied.
What should fill these two voids? Would another restaurant do well here? How about a retail store? What kind of store?
If it was your decision, what would move into these two spots? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

What about a bakery? I think that would be a great addition to Islington.

I agree with K.M. Hayes, a bakery is sorely needed in Westwood. And that spot formally occupied by Cold Stone has great visibility and parking/access. A bakery combined with serving coffee. There really is no good coffee shops in Westwood other than the tasteless Dunkin Dounuts and the Charbucks on High Street.

to reply to seliot and K.M Hates, there is a coffee shop that serves breakfast and lunch directly across the street. Course there is always room for compitition.

How about VideoMANIA... just kidding. A sporting goods shop or hardware shop would be great. Love bakeries and coffee shops too but I think we got a great one in Perks right across the way there.

Thanks Mary, I meant Cafe Diva (not Perks, which is also nice, but located in Norwood) in my comment about a great coffee shop across from the old ColdStone Creamery Space.
