Visions for Vacancies in Islington: What Should Fill Cold Stone Space?
The local ice cream eatery recently closed its doors . . . what should replace it?
Through Visions for Vacancies, you can have your say and sound off on what a vacant business property should become in Westwood before plans are drawn.
Westwood Patch will highlight a vacant building or structure in the Westwood community frequently as vacancies become available.
This week we return to the plaza in Islington, where a retail space has now opened up in the old spot of the local ice cream eatery Cold Stone. The plaza is also home to another open space that was formerly inhabited by Jack Conway Realtor.
But what should fill the void now that Cold Stone is gone? Would an additional restaurant fit well, or perhaps a new retail establishment?
If you had your way, what would you want to go into the open spot? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

Love the hardware store idea. Maybe like "Harvey's" in Needham.
Or a restaurant such as the "Vicki Lee's" that used to be on Rte. 109 many years ago.

What i wonder is why shops in that center are closing... No foot traffic? With the playground next door how could an ice cream shop fail? The other space in the is still empty signaling how desperate Westwood is for another real estate office...
I bet a Peet's coffee would do well in the Coldstone spot assuming the landlord isn't the reason these shops are fleeing...

Would love to see a sushi restaurant in there! Or a florist shop, and love the idea above of a local hardware store! A fish market would also be great. Not sure I like the idea of a bar...
