Up to 5 Inches Predicted for Westwood

Heavy snow is expected through the evening.

The National Weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Westwood area between 7 a.m. today and 1 p.m. Friday.

Heavy, wet snow and strong winds are expected to adversely impact travel, particularly Thursday night into Friday morning.

A snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches is expected.

A winter weather advisory is issued when between 2 to 6 inches of snowfall is expected.

Westwood isn't predicted to get hit as hard as its neighbors to the west, which could get up to 8 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Drivers throughout the state, however, are being advised that the roads will become slippery overnight, and strong winds could result in power outages.
