High Holy Day Services at Area Synagogues

Here is a look of High Holy Day services for Temple Beth David in Westwood, Temple Beth Abraham in Canton and Temple Beth David in Canton.

The following schedule of services for the High Holy Days has been provided by the Synagogues.

Rosh Hashanah

Sunday- Sept. 16

  • Erev Rosh Hashanah 6:00 pm (everyone together in Weissman-Davis Sanctuary)
  • Candle Lighting 6:34 pm

Monday- Sept. 17

  • First Day Rosh Hashanah 8:30 am
  • Tashlikh (at Lake Massapoag) 5:30 pm
  • Mincha/Ma’ariv 6:30 pm
  • Candle Lighting 7:34 pm

Tuesday- Sept. 18

  • Second Day Rosh Hashanah 8:30 am
  • Mincha/Ma’ariv 6:30 pm
  • Yom Tov Ends 7:34 pm

Tuesday- Sept. 25

  • Kol Nidre 6:00 pm
  • Candle Lighting 6:19 pm

Wednesday- Sept. 26

  • Yom Kippur 8:30 am
  • Mincha 5:00 pm
  • Shofar Blowing 7:19 pm

Rosh Hashanah

Services for Erev Rosh Hashanah (Sunday, September 16) will be at 8 p.m.

On Monday, September 17, the early services will be at 8:30 a.m. and the late services will be at 11:30 a.m. There will be a Yeladim Service (Children's Service) in the afternoon at 3 p.m.

On Tuesday, September 18, services will be at 10 a.m. The Tashlich Service will be at 12:15 p.m.

Yom Kippur

Kol Nidrei (Tuesday, September 25) services will be at 8 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 26, the early services will be at 8:30 a.m. and the late services will be at 11:30 a.m. There will be a Yeladim Service (Children's Service) at 3 p.m. There will also be a Healing Service at 3 p.m. The afternoon/Yizkor/Ne'ila service will be at 4:15 p.m.

Please note that tickets are required for all services, except Yeladim Services. Tickets are provided at no charge to college students and anyone on active military duty. Non-members should contact Dan Weller at president@templebethdavid.net to make arrangements for tickets.

Rosh Hashanah

On Sunday, September 16, Maariv will be at 6 p.m.

The schedule for Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18 will be the same. On both days Shacharit will be at 8:45 a.m. Mincha/Maariv will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Yom Kippur

On Tuesday, September 25, Mincha will be at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 26, Shacharit will be at 8:45 a.m. Mincha/Ne'lah/Maariv will be at 5:15 p.m. that night.

(Canton)

Rosh Hashanah

On Sunday, September 16, evening services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, September 17, morning and Shofar services will begin at 10 a.m. The morning services will be followed by Tashlich at the pond behind the synagogue.

On Tuesday, September 18, there will again be morning and Shofar services that begin at 10 a.m.

Yom Kippur

Kol Nidrei (Tuesday, September 25) services will begin at 7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 26, morning services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Mincha, Yizkor and N'ilah services will begin at 4:15 p.m. For those who choose to stay at the synagogue during the day, there will be a study session with Rabbi Gottlieb at 3:15 p.m.
