Despite a strong effort, Wolverines can't defeat a tough Bedford team and fall, 34-18.

It was played before a packed house, and you knew every single person there wanted to see the game.

Afterall, you don't wait through an hour weather delay before the game even starts if you're not excited for the beginning of the season. With lightning spotted just north of Westwood, officials decided to err on the side of caution and delay the game.

It was also the game where Pop Warner football players and cheerleaders were to be honored at halftime. They wound up doing this prior to the game, with each player's name being called over the public address system, while the young cheerleaders performed a routine with the high school team.

Ultimately, the game went to the visitors, as Westwood fell to Bedford, 34-18.
