Local Painter to Showcase Art in Annual Open House This Week

Thomas Dunlay is holding an open house this weekend, during which art lovers can buy prints of his well-known paintings.

The paintings of Westwood resident Thomas Dunlay will return in an annual Christmas Open House this weekend to benefit a number of Boston-area charities throughout the year.

Dunlay holds the open house each year on the weekend before Thanksgiving, offering sales of his prints to art lovers from all around the Westwood area. During the event, he and his wife Katie sell his paintings, but also give prints and works to any charity that is looking for a helping hand.

The proceeds help benefit a number of charities, such as Dana Farber and Rosey's Place.

"The main point of what we do is we give a lot of prints to charity," Dunlay said during last year's open house. "The purpose is to raise money to give to charities throughout the year."

He added, "We never say no to anybody. And it's been very rewarding to help these groups that many people overlook. We do a tremendous amount of work for families with medical conditions."

Art lovers may find the prints ideal for wedding, birthday, holdiay or retirement gifts.

The open house kicks off Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will break for an hour before resuming from 7 to 9. The sale will then return Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This weekend's sale will feature a number of new prints, all of which are available framed and unframed, as are Dunlay's limited edition prints.

Sounds like the Dunlays and charitable organizations will have several days of "win, win" for all. www.art-prints-paintings.com
