Letter to the Editor: Warren a Winning Candidate
Local resident Jake Indursky offers his thoughts on the upcoming U.S. Senate Race and Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren.
The following was submitted as a letter to the editor to Westwood Patch.
After having discussed the upcoming United States Senate race with various members of the Westwood community, it has been made clear to me that many in the town would like a better understanding of the candidates and what they stand for.
I would like to espouse the virtues of the candidate that I support, Elizabeth Warren.
Warren grew up as the daughter of a janitor, and had to work her way to where she is now: A professor at Harvard University and a candidate for Senator of Massachusetts.
Elizabeth did not take any shortcuts to success, and she will not take any shortcuts as a member of the United States Senate.
Warren is a member of the middle class through and through, and she understands the needs of those in positions similar to her own. I am planning on voting for Elizabeth Warren because she will fight for the middle class. I encourage you all todo the same.
Sincerely,
Jake Indursky

She took no shortcuts?
One of the shortcuts Warren took was the one to get away from the Cherokees that came to "talk" to her. I thought that Warren was proud to be decended from the Cherokee Nation, and wanted to sit down and have coffee with them. Harvard was proud to list her as a woman of color on its staff, to show that it has diversity in its hiring. As far as Warren listing herself as a Native American, did she take away from a "real" Native American? Did she use her "high cheekbones" as a pass to "cut in line," ahead of other minorities?
Jake, if she's the kind of person you want to represent herself (she won't represent you, she'll represent Obama, et al), well, that's sad. I prefer a person who has a little more on the good ethics side, than the phoney she is.
