James Rush Dies; Father of State Senator Michael Rush
James Rush was a Chief Probation Officer at the West Roxbury District Court and U.S. Navy Veteran.
James J. Rush, father of State Senator Michael Rush, passed away Wednesday morning.
Rush was a former Chief Probation Officer for the West Roxbury District Court, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Virginia A. (Meagher). Rush was the loving father of Mark and his wife Florinda, James and his wife Lisa, the honorable State Senator Michael F. Rush and his wife Mary, Monica, Peter and Brendan.
He is the grandfather of William, Alex, Kevin, Kyle and Ciara. Son of the late John and Mary Rush of County Mayo, Ireland and Mission Hill. Brother of thate late Mary Cooney, Margaret Cullinane, Lillian Locke, Catherine Campbell, Martin T. and Henry Rush and Irene Driscoll. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Theresa of Avila Parish, 2078 Centre St., West Roxbury. Visiting hours Friday 2-8 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will he held on Friday, Feb. 25, 2-8 p.m. at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury.
