As you may have read, I'm new to your towns. So I'm wondering: what are five issues currently facing Westwood that you'd like to see the Selectmen address?
Please leave your comments underneath, and at the end of the week we'll put together a list of things that are most important to you.
WW Resident

Many residents have voiced concern over residences (rental or own) being included in the development plans for Westwood Station, particularly for the impact it would have on the school system. Are the Selectmen concerned about this? What is their position here? Will any Selectman challenge the developers to present a plan that does not include residences? I understand money will be needed for public safety resources/facilities for this development. The town/developers can address the public safety issue through money (spending/budgeting here), but there's concern they will attempt to address the school impact concerns with money as well. Adding teachers and modular classrooms to Islington elementary schools will logistically address increased student enrollment, but it does nothing to address the expected increase in transient families/students.
Time for Change

When are we going to start funding the fire department properly? Staffing levels have gone unchanged for 40 years while call volume continues to increase year after year. 2 Fire stations in need of big renovations, that are worked in/lived in 24-7-365 while a library thats open approx 60 hours a week gets a new facility. This is tragic. Let's wake up!
