Five Things You Need to Know: July 31

Storytime at the library, a knee pain seminar in Norwood, Zumba in Dedham and a food festival in Quincy.

 

 

Today's Weather: Should be a foggy Tuesday with highs of 78. Things will be cooling down at night to 59 according to the National Weather Service.

1. The Westwood Library (Islington Branch) will be hosting Storytime this morning at 9:30 a.m. For children ages three and up.

2. There will be a knee pain seminar focusing on MAKOplasty at Norwood Hospital at 6 p.m. tonight.

3. For those interested in getting a workout, Zumba will be taking place at the Dedham Community House tonight at 7:15 p.m. Email drebc04@­gmail.­com to sign-up for the 8-week course or for info on drop-in classes.

4. If you want to make the trek over to Quincy, the 18th Annual FoodFest and Live Auction will be taking place at 6 p.m. Music, raffles and food from over 40 south shore restaurants.

5. Today in History: Today, in 1790, the first US patent was issued to Samuel Hopkins of Vermont for a process of making fertilizer.
