Election Day 2010: Complete Unofficial Poll Results from Westwood

A roundup of unofficial results for political races and ballot questions from Tuesday's election...

 

Expectations for voter turnout in Westwood for Tuesday's elections were high, with thoughts that it would reach over 70 percent.

Westwood voters, in turn, brought their support in full on Tuesday, when turnout reached Voter turnout in Westwood reached 71 percent.

By comparison, turnout for the State Primary Election in September was a dismal 25 percent. 

"Voter turnout was great," Westwood Town Clerk Dottie Powers said Tuesday night. "It was pretty steady all day. We had 71 percent come out. It would be nice to have this amount of interest on a local election. Everything went very smoothly; there were very little issues."

Unofficial results were in by 10 p.m. Tuesday. A handful of ballots that came from residents overseas were still being counted, Powers said.
